If you have ever visited Swiss Alps, you might agree that it is one of the most fantastic destinations in the world. But when it comes to Wales team, it won’t be breath-taking for them because they will focus on their training the next two weeks.
The Wales team is going there to manage the preparations for the upcoming Rugby World Cup 2019. the date is around the corner and the team must be having rigorous training to compete with the big teams in the competition.
It is two months away until the big event happens. There will be slit time for them to enjoy the breath-taking views of the Fiesch.
Swiss Alps located in the 2,250 metres above the sea level. The whole Wales Team will be fighting with the weather to train at an altitude of 1,000 metres.
There is a sensible reason why the coach chose this place. The mission here is to improve their players performance by training them to breath in the high altitude. It will force their body to recover when there is less oxygen. When their bodies get used to it, they will naturally use oxygen in moderate way. It is an effective training to improve the ability of team in preserving oxygen.
Slightly different with the training four years ago, the players will also be facing the weights sessions in a gym. The unique thing about this is that the gym moved from their Wales training base in the Vale of Glamorgan hotel resort.
The training is not moderate, though. The hard exercises will make them push the limits and get exhausted.
People slated it as beautiful but brutal. Well, the beautiful swiss alps do not guarantee that the team will enjoy such laidback experience. On the contrary, they will learn to be beasts in this beautiful place.
Despites the high altitude, it can add more motivation to the team when training in two weeks.
Wales team have never taken this competition lightly. While many people think that pain will be in the main event, pain is different for them. “No Pain, No Gain”. Pain starts very early so that they have more time to recover to feel less pain. The coach also stated that the prize was always worth the sacrifices.
There won’t be any pleasant experience in such rigorous training. If you are rooting for Wales team, you could hope for the best.
